Mya Evans is a first year at City College. She is an English major with a concentration in creative writing. She dreams of holding her own hardcover novel at her book signing one day. 

She likes experimenting with different forms of writing like poetry, song writing, and even analysis papers. She would even write an analysis on why Into The Spiderverse is one of the greatest movies of all time or how Taylor Swift re-recording her previous albums to gain ownership changed the music industry forever. 

Along with writing, she also loves reading. She spent her childhood at the Scholastic Book Fairs and at her local library absorbing all of the words printed in black ink. Her love for reading and all of the fun adventures she’s been on with those fictional characters is what inspired her to major in English and Creative Writing.

In terms of storytelling media that she enjoys, movies and shows make the list as well. Movies are another way of storytelling with visuals and sounds that elevate the story. Some of her personal favorites include Coraline, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Waves, Stranger Things, Howl’s Moving Castle and Frozen. 

Other forms of art that Mya appreciates are fashion, particularly from small fashion businesses, choreography, as she has loved dance all her life and participated in her high school’s dance show, dolls like Rainbow High & Bratz, music and live shows, horror movies and video games like Five Nights at Freddy’s and the Bendy Franchise, and lastly Taylor swift, for her lyrical prowess and her ability to stay strong and be a role model.

When Mya is not ranting about how amazing Taylor Swift is, she most likely is sketching merchandise ideas for her favorite shows, creating choreography, plotting another book or styling outfits for her next concert.
